The painting exhibition “Nihil”, by José Mário Carolino, is on display until March 10 at the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão (CPSE), in the interior of the municipality of Tavira.

According to the promoters, «“Nihil” is not painting, it is not sculpture, it is an aesthetic project in which what exists is devalued, looking for a new order».

«The rule is not the rule, it recreates itself at every moment of its construction, not having the obligation of a pre-established order and looking for the mobility of the line, the cut, the restructuring, the sewing, reorganizing the perception of movement and of space'.

«“Nihil” is born and dies to be reborn in the “beauty” of a chaotic abstract or organized ex-chaotic, in which he seeks his sensitive object».

“It is a manifesto against a decadent, rotten society, a world that we cannot abdicate but where we can be in a new way”, they conclude.
