The bishop of Algarve starts this Saturday, in Portimão, a sequence of meetings with all the Parish Pastoral Councils of the diocese, bodies composed mainly of lay people under the presidency of the parish priest, to plan the life of Catholic communities.

In the first meeting, with members of the Councils of the Vigararia de Portimão, D. Manuel Quintas should sensitize the participants "to the importance of work and parochial co-responsibility", reveals the website of the newspaper 'Folha do Domingo'.

The meetings continue on 16 February for parishes in the Lagos area, on 16 March for communities in the Guia area, at Vigararia de Loulé, and on 20 April for the other parishes in the Loulé region.

The prelate meets on April 27 with the Pastoral Councils of the parishes in the area of Faro and on May 25th with the communities in the Tavira area.
