The association "Faro 1540» is promoting a series of classes and workshops to boost its new headquarters. The Farense community has already made guitar, Latin dance, quizomba and burlesque lessons available to its members and the population, and will complement the offer with workshops shortly.
Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the number of students is limited to between 6 and 8 people, with guitar training being restricted to an even smaller number of participants. The partners of «Faro 1540» have priority in access to training.
“It should be noted that the trainers, in addition to their experience in the world of dance and the arts, have specialization courses abroad so that they can teach these dances with the utmost rigor and professionalism”, reads the latest newsletter of the association.
In addition to these training courses, which were scheduled to start in January, the association is also already preparing a series of workshops on the themes «History and Culture of the Algarve», «Teas and Medicinal Herbs», «Urban Gardens» and «Feng- Shui».
«Those interested may request more information and should register as soon as possible by sending an email to [email protected] to indicate which course or courses they intend to attend», informed the association.
This was another way found by the «Faro 1540» to give life to its newly inaugurated headquarters, which resulted from the efforts of its members. The association picked up a vacant building in downtown Faro, recovered it and since last year it promotes events regularly to dynamize it.
By the end of 2012, the association took to this space, among other initiatives, another session of the conference cycle «City for recovery», this time under the theme «Urban Revitalization and Local Commerce» and the presentation of the work of Fernando Pessanha « The Islamic City of Faro».
English (conversation) and German (initiation) classes have also been held since last year at the same location.
