New Year's Eve celebrations in Monte Gordo they began on Saturday, taking hundreds of people to the giant tent installed on Avenida Marginal, and continue until the last night of the year, thus welcoming 2013.
The commitment of the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António to the end-of-year entertainment program is already having positive results, as the entire hotel business in the municipality has occupancy levels above 85 percent.
For the Mayor of Vila Real de Santo António, Luís Gomes, these numbers show how the New Year «continues to be a structuring event for the municipality», surpassing the average occupancy rate in the Algarve and «generating attractiveness in the hotel industry , or in the local economy'.
This Monday, December 31st, Monday, also in Monte Gordo, the celebrations for the longest night of the year begin at 22:00, with the «Duo Reflexo», which will warm up the thousands of expected visitors until very close to midnight.
When the twelve chimes strike, the new year begins with the colors of the fireworks in the Bay of Monte Gordo.
In the early hours of 2013, the stage, installed in a giant tent on Avenida Marginal, will be animated by the mythical Algarve band «ÍRIS», which promises to bring generations together in a concert in which there will be no lack of good mood.
In the alignment will be many of the mandatory themes that have dictated the success of the training over the years. Who doesn't remember songs like "Atira't'o mar", "Oh mother!" and «Isolated from the world»?
From 2:00 onwards, the dance floor opens, with sound controls in charge of the dj/producer «Rosabrava» (by Guadiprod). Night out, dj «Glowjack» will close the celebrations.
On December 31, the entertainment will also extend to Praça Marquês de Pombal, in Vila Real de Santo António, where Zé Aníbal will play from 22:30.
