More than 600 people joined today the concentration called by the Union of Unions of the Algarve (USAL) to Faro, as part of the General Strike that is taking place today in Portugal and several European countries.

The protest reached the height of participation during the parade that toured downtown Faro and ended up in Jardim Manuel Bivar, from where he had started.

Shouting words of protest against the Government and the Troika, the demonstrators held up posters with messages in the same direction, but where there was no lack of references to the international character of the stoppage.

In addition to several unions, the platform “Que se Fuck the Troika” joined in, which held a “funeral parade”, in which it symbolically “buried” Democracy and the Welfare State, in a parade that ended up together with the USAL concentration.

After the parade, several union leaders took stock of the strike in their sectors of activity. The concentration also foresees the performance of several popular artists, together with the Bandstand of Doca de Faro.
