The ruling PSD/CDS coalition and the main opposition party in Faro, the PS, are "boycotting" the process of evaluating the parking meters, in the Commission created for this purpose in the Municipal Assembly (AM) of Faro, this Monday accused the movement «With Faro in the Heart» (CFC).

«The CFC – Independent Municipal Movement “With Faro in the Heart”, expresses its protest and solidarity with the population's revolt at the fact that, despite the drama of bankruptcies and unemployment caused by about a thousand new parking meters, the PSD/CDS and PS are boycotting the process, in an attack on the citizens and democracy», considered the movement, in a statement.

According to the CFC, although the Commission created has up to 60 days to decide, this period ended at the end of June and "scarily, it is November, after more than 180 days and nothing has been decided yet!"

The Commission was created following a proposal by the CFC, which also recommended to the Chamber that “conditions for the suspension of parking meters” be created. This proposal was approved in AM on April 30th.

"However, despite the extreme gravity of the situation, with a large part of the city "dead" and with unemployment in commerce, restaurants and services, at the same time that a large part of the parking lots are empty, PSD/CDS in the Commission and PS through the Bureau, have been boycotting the process», reinforced the movement that supported José Vitorino's candidacy for the Chamber of Faro.
