Ana Moura will be in the Algarve this weekend to present her new album «Desfado» in two shows that will take place in Portimão and Faro. Today, Friday, the fado singer will be at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão and tomorrow she will perform at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, in both cases at 21 pm.

The Portuguese singer has gained dimension in the Portuguese national panorama in recent years, namely after having won the Amália Award for Best Performer in 2008, and assumes a very unique vision of fado. Ana Moura escapes from the sounds that we are used to linking to this musical style, a trend that is more marked in this new work.

In today's and tomorrow's shows, Ana Moura will be accompanied by Ângelo Freire, on Portuguese guitar, Pedro Soares, on fado viola, André Moreira, on bass and double bass, João Gomes, on keyboards and Mário Costa, on drums and percussion.

In «Desfado», there are songs written by several representatives of the new generation of national composers, such as Manuel Cruz dos Ornatos Violeta, Márcia, Pedro da Silva Martins of Deolinda, Miguel Araújo dos Azeitonas, Luísa Sobral and António Zambujo. But they were also invited to compose renowned names in Portuguese music such as Aldina Duarte, Tózé Brito, Manuela de Freitas and Pedro Abrunhosa.

For the production Ana Moura went to look for Larry Klein, the multi-awarded North American producer who in his resume has works with Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock – who has a special appearance in Unhappy – , Madeleine Peyroux, Melody Gardot, Tracy Chapman, among many others.

In Portimão, tickets for the show cost 18 euros for the audience and 15 euros for the counter. In Faro, tickets cost 20 euros for the first audience and 15 euros for the second audience.
