The play “O Primeiro Amor”, performed by the group A Gaveta, from Portimão, takes to the stage on November 23, 24 and 25, at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, in Silves.

Directed by Sandro William Junqueira and performed by Rui Cabrita, the play “O Primeiro Amor” tells the story of a man who wanders in his thoughts and sensations. Between the cemetery and a park bench, between one house and another, sinking between conscience and lack of thought, in an account of how things really happened between him and Lulu (or was it Ana?).
Basically, and according to the character “The story is always the same”… “The irony of life. The adversities of love. The unpostponable death. There were never other subjects. There will never be another story. Be it this man or another man. The props change but the subject doesn't. Ever. Life. Love. The death. The fear. The laugh. The despair. The wickedness. Repetition”.

“A Gaveta” was born in Portimão, in October 1998, from the will of a group of people interested in boosting theater in that city, having been, since 2009, a cultural association. Its objectives include theatrical research, assembly and representation of theatrical performances, promotion of theater courses and workshops and promotion of sociocultural actions and art workshops in general.

The play “O Primeiro Amor” has sessions scheduled for 21:30 pm on the 23rd and 24th and for 16:30 pm on Sunday, the 25th.

Tickets cost 5 euros and can be purchased on the same day 30 minutes before the start of the show.
