The exhibition “Micro Safari”, an exhibition with around 200 exotic animals, and the seminar “The Sustainability of Hunting in the Municipality of Alcoutim”, which had around 60 participants, were the big news of the sixth edition of the Partridge Fair in Martim Longo, which took place over the weekend.

With great dynamism, the event offered several activities and animations during the two days, among which the falconry demonstrations stand out, a cinotechnical demonstration of the Intervention Detachment of Faro and the Alcoutim Dog Contest.

With exhibitors of articles related to hunting, the fair also had taverns of local gastronomic products and famous game dishes, which are also a reason to attract visitors.

With about 45 hunting areas, the municipality of Alcoutim has as many tourist hunting areas as the entire Algarve. The Partridge Fair is increasingly visited by hunters and professional areas linked to hunting, which have a great opportunity to promote their economic activity at the event.

Several local and regional entities were present at the opening of the event – Francisco Amaral, Mayor of Alcoutim, Fernando Severino, Regional Director for Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve, António Pina, President of the Regional Tourism Authority of the Algarve, António Miranda, Director Regional Forests, among others.
