The PSP of Portimão detained yesterday, Thursday, two men suspected of drug trafficking and 235 individual doses of cocaine. The men, aged 42 and 49, were already referenced by the police, who yesterday afternoon proceeded to arrest them.

«The Criminal Investigation Squadron of the Police Division of Portimão has carried out the investigation in recent months, and yesterday it was possible to proceed with the interception and detention of the suspects, as they were in possession of 190 individual doses of cocaine, already properly packaged and ready for sale to the consumers,” PSP revealed in a statement.

In addition to the drug the detainees had with them, more product was later found following the execution of a search warrant for the suspect's house in Algoz.

Here, 'among other items, 45 individual doses of cocaine, a “cut” product, a digital scale and other objects used in the preparation and packaging of the narcotic, about a thousand euros, a melee weapon and electrical/electronic items resulting from the reception'.

One of the suspects had already been arrested for the same crime last January, added the PSP, who stressed "the high effort and commitment" placed by the Command of faro PSP in the fight against drug trafficking.
