The PS/Algarve today expressed its "perplexity" at the fact that the Kamov helicopter, sent to Loulé, to replace the one from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), which in the meantime, by decision of the Government, had been moved to Beja, did not present "the necessary flight safety conditions to be able to operate".

The PS Algarve regrets that «the Algarve has been assigned equipment, of unquestionable relevance in the context of medical emergencies, without having previously taken care of the safety conditions for its intervention».

The Socialists also consider “truly regrettable that the Government neglected to assess the operational conditions of the Kamov helicopter before transferring the INEM helicopter to Beja, thus leaving the Algarve without equivalent coverage and jeopardizing the safeguarding of safety and well-being of the resident population as well as of those who visit us».

The PS Algarve understands that «the Government, once again, highlights the marginalization to which the Algarve and the Algarve has voted, by undermining, in an inadmissible way, their most pressing needs».

Therefore, the Algarvian socialists ask the Government that «the return of the INEM helicopter, which has now been achieved, be permanent because, and as INEM itself recognizes, the number of potential beneficiaries is greater in the Algarve than in the three districts of Alentejo for where the aircraft had been relocated”.
