The Cine-Teatro Louletano, in Loulé, receives the opening concert of the 10th Season of the Orquestra do Algarve – 14 years of the AO, scheduled for October 19th, at 30:XNUMX pm.

At this musical moment, the commemorative work of this 10th anniversary will be presented, orchestrated by the English conductor John Avery, who has collaborated over the years with the Orquestra do Algarve.

The program also includes excerpts from some of the most emblematic works by WA Mozart (1756-1791), namely “As Bodas de Figaro” or “Don Giovanni”.

Conducted by Maestro Cesário Costa, this show will have as soloists the soprano Cristiana Oliveira and the baritone Job Tomé.

Tickets cost 7,5 euros.

the soprano Cristina Oliveira is born in Braga and began his musical studies in piano and violin. Degree in Singing from the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts of Porto, in the classes of professors Oliveira Lopes and Margarida Reis.

Attended several improvement courses and masterclasses with Ana Paula Matos, Enza Ferrari, Paulo Ferreira, Marc Tardue, Mme Dechorgnat at the Paris International Conservatory, and Gabriella Morigi in Bologna.

In 2010, he was accepted to the intensive course at the New York Opera Studio, where he played the role of Yaroslavna in Borodin's opera “Prince Igor”. In 2011, he received an Honorable Mention in the Luísa Todi National Singing Competition.

He has performed at various recitals of Lieder and Public Speaking in Portugal, Spain, Italy and the United States of America. In opera, he played Dido in “Dido e Aeneas” by Purcell, Gretel in “Hansel e Gretel” by Humperdink at the Teatros de Tomar, Ourém and Teatro Circo in Braga. Recently he was Ivette in “La Rondine” by Puccini and Nita in Zarzuela “Los Gavilanes”, both at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos.

Last year, she made her debut as Violetta Valery in Verdi's “La Traviata” at the Atelier de l'Opera, Barcelona's Center for Higher Operatic Improvement and at the Sant Pere Sallavinera Music Festival this year, to acclaimed critics.

In 2012, he won 1st Prize at the Estoril International Interpretation Competition.

the baritone Job Thomas was born in 1978 in Matosinhos. He began his musical studies at the Conservatory of Music in Porto. Degree in Singing from the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts of Porto (ESMAE).

He was part of the group of resident singers at the Casa da Música Opera Studio; in the formative component of the Studio, he worked with renowned names in singing, staging and directing. He performs in opera, oratory and recitals with various orchestras in Portugal and France.

In 2007 he was awarded by the Fundação Rotária Portuguesa, with the 1st prize, best Lied and best Portuguese song, and in the same year by (ESMAE) he won the Helena Sá e Costa award.

It was also awarded in 2011 with the second prize, and best interpretation of a Portuguese song in the Luísa Todi contest. In 2008/09 he joined the Center National d'Artistes Lyriques de Marseille (CNIPAL) and, in 2010, the Academy of the Opera Festival of AIX-en-Provence, where he has been a regular presence in opera.
