If you work in a hotel and restaurant unit, or if you are a guide or tour operator in the municipality of Lagos, then know that, on the 26th of October, there is an action to promote the consumption of mackerel with you in mind.

At the Santo Amaro Municipal Market, two cooking classes will be held (from 10 am to 11 am and from 00 am to 11 pm) with a maximum of eight volunteer students per class and aimed precisely at people from those groups.

Those who register will participate in free tastings and at the same time learn how to cook recipes with fresh and preserved mackerel.

This new initiative of the Campaign for the Promotion of Mackerel in Lagos comes after the success achieved in July, at Mercado Municipal da Avenida, when cooking classes were aimed at the general public.

This campaign has been developed by Docapesca, in partnership with the Hotel and Tourism Schools, namely the one in Portimão, since last July, and its main objective is to promote the consumption of mackerel, a fish that is still little consumed in our country.

This initiative, which is intended to have a multiplier effect with hotels and local restaurants, and mackerel becomes part of their tourist menus, is based on cooking classes (in collaboration with the Hotel School of Portimão ), using mackerel as the main ingredient, a fish rich in omega 3 and, in terms of price, very affordable.

In this regard, find out here are some recipe suggestions selected by the Portimão School of Hotel and Tourism as part of this initiative.
