Over the next two weeks, the Centro Cultural de Lagos proposes a journey through the rhythms, sounds and traditional dances of several countries. From tango to oriental songs and dance, to popular Portuguese music, there are several proposals that will be presented at the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

It is on the next 12th and 13th (Friday and Saturday), at 21 pm, that this trip begins, led by Argentine musician and pianist Juan Esteban Cuacci, who will step back onto the stage of the Cultural Center to present “Power Tango Trío” .

Continuing the path opened by the great Astor Piazzolla, and “firmly believing in the need for a permanent renewal of Tango”, this Argentine musician proposes a powerful sound in a trio format: piano, electric bass and drums.

It presents its own works and tangos from the traditional Argentinean repertoire, with a new point of view recreating this genre, without misrepresenting its origins.

She is accompanied, in dance, by renowned Argentine dancers Juan Capriotti and Graciana Romeo. Tickets are now on sale for a single price of 12 euros.

On the following Friday, the 19th, also at 21 pm, we sailed towards the Maghreb for the presentation of the show “Um Sarau no Palácio de Jasmim” – Eduardo Ramos Ensemble Moçárabe.

The music that will be heard is Arabic-Mediterranean and Sephardic and will be accompanied by oriental dance.

Eduardo Ramos, in addition to being the voice, will play the Arab lute and zukra, accompanied by Carlos Mendonça, who will play the derbuka and flute. The oriental dance will be performed by Carolina Ramos. The price of tickets for this show is 5 euros (single price).

The next day, the trip marks the return to our country, with the Cultural Center hosting Portuguese popular music, with the holding of another Meeting of Popular Groups.

The Cultural and Recreative Association ÀmodaAntiga is organizing the fourth edition of this initiative, which is also scheduled to start at 21 pm.

The groups “Atar e Pôr ao Fumeiro” (S. Teotónio), “Grupo Musical Santa” Maria” (Faro) and “AmodaAntiga Group” (Lagos).

As in previous months, on this day, at show time, a campaign by the Lagos Resource Bank will take place at the Cultural Center to collect food and/or hygiene items. Participate!
