The former Finance Building of Alcoutim, also known as the Capitão-Mor house, was remodeled and will now give rise to the new Territorial Post of the National Republican Guard. The inauguration, as part of the Municipality Day celebrations, is scheduled for 10:00 am on September 14th.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Internal Administration Miguel Macedo, the General Commander of the GNR, Lieutenant General Luís Newton Parreira, and the mayor of Alcoutim Francisco Amaral.
The inaugural session will also be marked by a tribute to the GNR soldiers who served at the Territorial Post of Alcoutim and by the launch of the book “The house of the captain-major of Alcoutim – Subsidies for its history”.
The new building represents an investment of 671.011,03 euros, divided between the Municipality of Alcoutim (54%) and the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment of the Ministry of Internal Administration (46%).
The property will also be the space for the new premises of the Works Division of the Alcoutim City Council.
