The Picture Portugal project, a private initiative for the creation of cinematographic structures, and the Municipality of Portimão support the creation of a television series, entitled “Que Vida Esta”, whose pilot episode is being recorded in several places in the municipality.

The Municipality of Portimão is hosting and supporting an initiative by HIP Algarve, a Portuguese-Canadian producer that this week is filming the pilot episode of the series “Que Vida Esta”, a portrait of the difficulties, adventures and activities that young people from today, in their 20s/30s, they pass, whether they are still studying, working or relying on the support of their parents.

The filming, which last Sunday led to the temporary cut-off of road traffic on the access bridge to the city center, continues until this Friday, and the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Library was today the setting for the recordings.

The fiction portrays the current young generation and is co-produced by the company Picture Portugal, which supports the development of the series and will try to sell it to the national television market.

This initiative represents another step in the development of the concept of creating a support structure for the audiovisual industry in the region, in order to increase economic activity outside the bathing season.

The Picture Portugal project was presented in 2009 and had significant changes in its model, currently being a private initiative that aims to develop the audiovisual activity in the Portimão area, maintaining the focus on the construction of cinema and post-production studios, an incubation space for companies, production support and other equipment.
