The Citizens' Movement in Defense of the Health Services of Loulé went public this Friday to signal its satisfaction with the guarantee that the closure of the Basic Emergency Services of Loulé and Lagos is not foreseen, given this week by the Health Minister Paulo Macedo.

On the sidelines of a visit to the Hospital of Faro, the member of Government admitted that these were two of the units that a technical study commissioned by his ministry indicated as being to close, but assured that this measure is not foreseen.

«This movement also thanks the more than a thousand residents in the municipality of Loulé who forcefully participated and supported with their physical presence and/or on social networks the demonstration on August 3, 2012 in the city of Loulé against the closure emergencies,” the movement said in a statement.

A mobilization that the group of citizens considers was "crucial for the decision-making announced by the Minister of Health Paulo Macedo this week." The movement took the opportunity to "make public its solidarity with the struggles of populations in the rest of the country where the PSD/CDS government expressed its intention to close the emergency room."
