The churchyard of the Church of Mexilhoeira Grande (Portimão) will be, on the weekend of August 25th and 26th, the setting for the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, a religious event where recreational activities and musical entertainment also have a embossed paper.
One of the highlights of the liturgical program is the Eucharist of the Festival, scheduled for 16:00 on the 25th, followed by the procession in which the image of Our Lady of Sorrows will be carried by the faithful through the main arteries of the village.
In terms of animation, the festival and the festival on Saturday starts at 21:30 pm, with the program featuring ambient music by Vera Lúcia and the performance of the group Broa de Mel.
On the 26th, and after the procession, there will be an arraial, a kermesse, the Parish Fair and auction of offers, with emphasis on the mass figures made by the popular, while the music will be performed by Eulália Nunes and Vânia.
This traditional festivity, which always takes place on the last weekend of August, is organized by the Parish Center of Mexilhoeira Grande, with the support of the local Parish Council and the Municipality of Portimão.
