It didn't come to spoil the party that had the Prime Minister as the main guest, but the protest organized by the Commission of Users of Via do Infante (CUVI) was noisy and managed to mobilize many motorists who spent this Tuesday at the end of the day in front of the Aquashow water park, in Quarteira, where the 2012 edition of the Festa do Pontal took place.

CUVI tried again, but this time it was not received by Passos Coelho. Despite this, an advisor to the head of government accepted from the hands of commission member João Vasconcelos the same document that only two days ago the protesters were unable to deliver, in an action in Manta Rota.

As for the Pontal March, the slow march with the horn that CUVI took to the door of the annual PSD party in the Algarve was “a great success”, in João Vasconcelos' vision. Among several dozen cars and motorbikes identified with signs of the anti-toll fight on the A22 and many others who, without being there, gave no rest to the horn, the action made a lot of noise and made traffic on the access road to Quarteira very slow, as its organizers intended.

Even so, the confusion was not enough to disturb the progress of the Festa do Pontal and the protesters column also failed to arrive in time to catch the Prime Minister entering, through orange flags, at the party site. As, unlike in other years, the initiative was carried out inside four walls, the noise from outside was not even noticed. Or rather, the noise of the horns, because the PSD anthem was a constant presence since early, with columns placed at the door, facing the road, repeating the music for almost two hours.

CUVI took the opportunity to accuse the government of "hiding from the people" and of having an "anti-democratic" attitude by refusing to receive the anti-toll activists. The requirement remains the same: the immediate suspension of toll collection on Via do Infante.
