The Portimão Sardine Festival, which opens today, this year broke all records and features 162 stands, where a wide variety of products can be purchased, many of them created live by the artisans present.

The Festival takes place this year in the area of ​​the fair and exhibition park, close to the railway bridge and the Arena pavilion, in a single open-air space, with an area of ​​10.000 m2 and the Arade river in the background.

There are many proposals for the 18th edition of the Sardine Festival, which between 3 and 12 August proposes nine intense and exciting days in Portimão's Fair and Exhibition Park for all tastes and ages, from gastronomy, handicraft, music, arts circus and children's activities.

Sardine lovers will be able to delight in this delicacy, among a very varied menu of other delicacies and snacks, available in six restaurants with a total of 2.500 seats, open between 18:30 and 23:00.

The event, which is an eco-event, has an attractive range of offers for visitors, who have three stages, lots of street entertainment, a children's space, a guarded bicycle park, music for all tastes, from Fado to rock, without forgetting folklore and jazz, and also plenty of good mood.

Tickets cost 5 euros, with the Family Ticket costing 16 euros and the Festival Ticket at a unit price of 30 euros, with the novelty of the Three-Day Ticket at 14 euros.

Tickets can be purchased at the Portimão Tourist Office (Rua 5 Outubro), at the Urban Rehabilitation Shop (Av. S. João Deus), at TEMPO – Portimão Municipal Theater or at Aqua Portimão, with free entry for children up to at 10 years old.

On the days when the Sardine Festival takes place, tickets can be purchased from 12:30 pm at the north ticket office and from 17:30 pm at the south ticket office.
