The download@LOTA project proposals continue to creatively mark the space of the former Lotta de Portimão and the area surrounding Largo da Barca, making known many young talents from Portimão, including musicians, djs, producers and visual artists.

The program for this second edition, which started last June, continues on the day 23 August, with performance by the Portimão band “The Nice – Live Act” composed by Marisa Fortes, Hugo Figueiras and Pedro Gerardo, who approach dance floor music in a live re-edit and mashup format and have a melodic component between the acoustic and the electronic. It will also be possible to hear the electronic music producer from Ribatejo Realphase, one of the faces of the collective “Neurotoxin” and whose sound is remarkably contemporary, darke beats and dub.

For day 24, is scheduled for the audition of French singer and musician Martin Rousselot, whose indie-folk sound album “The Original Bingo Club” had the participation of dj and producer Hugo Santos. Also on this night, you can listen to “Es(x)tratos”, a cinephile dj set produced by Jorge Paulino, who reinterprets and remixes soundtracks from cult films.

As for 25 August, the proposal “One Eyed Jacks Label Night” will be in charge of the production company One Eye Jacks: several names will come together on stage for several live acts and dj sets, namely the collective from Portimão “Roundhouse Kick”, composed by Adriana Lourinho and Igor Inácio, “Pal Plus” and “Photonz”, among others.

A 30 August, the Guinean musician Bango Lassana, who has been living in Portimão for some time, will give a concert with Afro-Mandengue roots, bringing together some musicians from the city to the sound of his 'kora', a traditional and popular instrument from West Africa.

On the night of 31 August, the proposal is the dynamic “Duo Cacete”, from Portimão, which reinterprets Portuguese popular music with a strong focus on 'pimba' hits.

On the last day of this edition of download@LOTA, September 1, will perform by the young duo from Porto, Dj Jo & Kombo, who will present a dj set dedicated to electronics in the bass avenue format, for a dubstep live act entitled “Kats out Loud”.

Every day, the performances are free to enter and begin at 19 pm, continuing into the night.

This invitation to join the city's artistic community is the responsibility of the cultural association Plataforma Download, which has the support of the Portimão City Council, aiming to create a dynamic space with programming dedicated to music and visual arts in their various forms, promoting the participation and the exchange of ideas between artists, population and visitors and showing that Portimão is a city with great creative potential.
