Portuguese theater returns to the stage at the Centro Cultural de Lagos. On the 22nd, the much cherished actress Florbela Queiroz stars in Lagos, in the fun comedy «Crisis, Sex and Facebook». Days later, it is the turn of the sounds of traditional Portuguese music to fill the CCL, with a show by Amélia Janes & Nem Truz Nem Muz.

On the 22nd, at 21 pm, Teatro Português returns to the stage of the Centro Cultural de Lagos, with an amusing comedy that mixes theatrical aesthetics, in a symbiosis between social criticism and contemporary humor.

«Crisis, Sex and Facebook» is an artistic creation by Nuno Miguel Henriques, in a production by Teatro Azul and A Voz das Ideias. Florbela Queiroz, popular actress with more than 50 years of career, joins the cast of this fun and original Portuguese theater play, alongside Nuno Miguel Henriques, nicknamed by many as “the man with the smile in the voice”, in addition to the talented actors Marisa Carvalho and Tito Pinto, who transform this piece into a “unique, singular and surprising moment”.

This comedy includes several hilarious numbers that promise to infect the audience, such as a very peculiar interview with a television addict, a weather report that includes a quasi-strip, an educated Alentejo woman and a woman for days, a Fado in Chinese, some Laundry Dirty from the Assembly Parties, A Visit of Azoreans to the Continent, A Few Suspicious Phone Calls, among other numbers, ending this event with a tribute to João Villaret in a poetic evocation by the actor and reciter Nuno Miguel Henriques.

According to the production, this show promises to be a "rock in the crisis and a painkiller for sadness, frowning and even facilitates contacts on Facebook among the public, in addition to everything else that for obvious reasons it is not advisable to disclose in advance" . Tickets are on sale for €10. More information at www.teatroportugues.com | www.avozdasideias.com | www.theatre-blue.com | www.theaterwest.com.

Three days later, on August 25th, also at the same place and starting at 21 pm, the musical show with Amélia Janes & Nem Truz Nem Muz is scheduled.

“We took advantage of the circumstance of the edition of the new CD, the tenth of the twenty years of the life of “Nem Truz Nem Muz”, to dedicate it to the great Algarve poet António Fernandes Aleixo, man of the people, guard, herdsman, popular singer, player of guitar, owner of a knowledge that life has taught him, his poetry remains current and wise, even after seventy years since the publication of his books of poems”.

The sound of the group has changed over time, but without losing the lessons acquired throughout its history. In 2012, the year of the consecration of Fado as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, the group has the participation of Amélia Janes, whose connection to Nem Truz Nem Muz dates back to 2004, and who brings to this group the smell of Fado, a musical area where Amélia Janes has invested many of her twenty-year career.

This new work “Se vos Canto…” is Atlantic, having influences from Africa, Brazil, Latin America and, of course, Portuguese traditional music and Fado. His themes speak of the sea, the countryside, love, and our history as a people. Tickets will be on sale for €7 and €5.
