A cycle of workshops centered on themes such as Mediterranean plants and oriental dance will take place on the 15th and 19th of September at the Casa da Cultura Islâmica e Mediterrânica de Silves.

With a duration of 3h30, “In the garden of the Islamic House – workshop on Mediterranean plants” is the name of the first workshop to be held on September 15th, at 9:30 am.

The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness and bridge the gap between knowledge about Mediterranean plants - their benefits, both in health and beauty - and Islamic culture, with its love for hygiene, mystical and spiritual virtues of plants and aromas existing in the Algarve.

The training includes a practical component of preparing oils, teas, ointments, oils, vinegars, natural exfoliants, beauty masks and perfumes for the home, with rosemary, rosemary and lavender as the preferred plants.

Participation in the workshop “In the Garden of the Islamic House” costs 12 euros, if registration is made until September 5th, and 15 euros, for those who register after September 5th.

Payment must be made on the registration act, with the deadline for receipt of entries being the 12th of September.

The second action, aimed at the female audience, takes place on September 19, at 19 pm, under the theme “Dance, flow, seduce and play – dance with a veil – oriental dance workshop”.

Presenting and making known the basic movements of belly dancing and the movement of the veil, as well as the meaning of this dance and its potential in terms of self-awareness, self-esteem, assertiveness, creativity and concentration are some of the main objectives of this training.

Entries must be made until the 17th of September, costing 12 euros, if made until the 10th of September, and 15 euros, if made after that day.

Both workshops are open to participants over the age of 11, and their realization is subject to a minimum number of 6 participants and a maximum of 15.
