Students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the University of Algarve (UAlg) who won with merit, and for the 2nd consecutive year, the Team Design category of the National Engineering Competition, organized by BEST (Board of European of Students of Technology ), represent Portugal in the final of the European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC), which takes place in Zagreb, Croatia, until 8 August.

Artem Yultyyev, Micael Martins, Jarred Briscoe and João Sardo creatively combined their knowledge with practice, ensuring victory in the Team Design category.

During this test, the participants had the task of building a vehicle without energy applied to the direct movement of the wheels, capable of overcoming various obstacles, including a 30º descent with 2 m, two 90º curves, dirt floor, wet floor, and transporting a ping-pong ball as high as possible.

There are 104 of the best engineering students in Europe in competition, in a total of 26 teams, who will develop new ideas and solutions to engineering problems in the categories Team Design (practical solution with a physical prototype) and Case Study (possible solutions to a real problem ).

BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is the largest NGO of technology students in Europe. It is headquartered in 93 of the best European Universities, having more than 3000 active members and reaching more than 1.000.000 students through the most varied events.
