More than 400 people attended the 1st Manga & Comic Event in the Algarve, which took place last weekend, August 18th and 19th, in Faro.
According to the organization, expectations were "more than exceeded for an unprecedented event in the region, with an extremely positive balance."
“If many condemned the initiative when it was still an embryo, we managed to make everyone believe that this event would really happen, as long as everyone was really committed, and that it was really possible to materialize. And the 1st Manga & Comic Event in the Algarve».
After several months of work, more than 40 volunteers built what was a weekend dedicated to animation, manga and comics, bringing together, in a single space, geeks from the Algarve and other parts of the country.
The intense heat did not prevent the more than 400 visitors from passing through Faro, where they could participate in several workshops, with emphasis on Cosplay, Sushi and Manga vs Comic, karaoke sessions, cosplay parade, video games, among other activities.
«The feedback from visitors has proved to be the best, with many already requesting a second edition of the event, which shows that the Algarve has, in fact, space for this type of initiatives», emphasize the organizers.
The 1st Manga & Comic Event in the Algarve was organized by the Núcleo de Geeks do Algarve, with the support of the Association Faro 1540, Motorcycle Club of Faro, PT Merch, Casa da BD, Kingpin Books – Bookstore and BD Gallery, Portuguese Association of Ninpon Taijutsu, and Sailor Moon Portugal.
