Portimonense continues to believe that, in 2012/2013, it will play in the Second League. Fernando Rocha, president of alvinegros, in an extraordinary general meeting held yesterday, conveyed this confidence to the members, taking into account the non-compliance of some clubs that have not yet presented the necessary documentation for registration in the Professional Leagues.

The deadline for submitting the documentation for the registration of teams ended yesterday, but the clubs still have five more days to regularize the situation with the League.

Trofense and Leixões are the clubs that, according to the press, have the most complicated tasks to regularize the situation and complete the requirements for the registration of professional football teams.

If one of these teams fails to complete the registration, Portimonense will be invited to compete in the Segunda Liga, a competition in which, in 2011/2012, they were in last place in the table.

Fernando Rocha, at yesterday's General Assembly, according to a note published on the official website, addressed this eventuality, noting that Portimonense's financial situation is difficult due to the difficulty of finding sponsors and sponsors, but that the club is prepared to rejoin the second tier of Portuguese football.

The manager says that it will be necessary to have «your feet firmly on the ground», but that you don't need big budgets to build great teams, recalling the squad that two seasons ago rose to the 1st League and was one of the lowest in the Vitalis League.
