The Orquestra do Algarve's July program marks the beginning of the Summer Concerts cycle, taking the audience to outdoor spaces. Orquestra do Algarve performs in concerts in Albufeira, Loulé, Tavira and Castro Marim. Noteworthy is the return of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Festival, this year in a version extended into the summer months, maintaining the nature of free concerts.

The musicians from Orquestra do Algarve will perform at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium on the 6th, at 22 pm, as part of the Music Cycle of the Past Century.

With musical direction by Pedro Neves, Principal Conductor of OA, the program includes the Fun for Bassoon and String Orchestra by the French composer Jean Françaix, followed by the Romance for Bassoon and Orchestra of ropes by the British Edward Elgar and performed by the soloist of Rui Lopes. The concert ends with Mozart's Symphony nº38 “Prague”.

July marks the beginning of another edition of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Festival, an event that is presented this year with some innovations. For the first time, the Festival is held during the summer months, offering unique and diverse concerts, free of charge, in various parts of the Algarve region.

The Opening Concert will take place on 21, in Loulé, at the Convento de Santo António, at 19:30 pm, featuring a chamber music concert, where a string quartet will perform works by Shostakovich, Borodin and Frank Bridge. On the 25th, the concert will have as a backdrop the Quartel da Atalaia, in Tavira, and will bring together the Orquestra do Algarve and the Banda Sinfónica do Army on the same stage.

Themes by Verdi, Leroy Anderson, Arthur Bliss, among others, fill the repertoire of this open-air concert, directed by John Avery, Associate Conductor of OA, and by Major João Basílio, of the Banda Sinfónica do Army.

Highlight also for the world premiere of the play Against All Odds, by John Avery, composed especially to mark the 10th Anniversary of Orquestra do Algarve. It should be noted that this work will mark the opening of this and other concerts that make up the calendar of this festival.

Orquestra do Algarve will also perform at the Revelim de Santo António, in Castro Marim, for an open-air concert, on the 28th of July, with free entry. In his luggage, he takes works by composers such as Williams, Herold, Ross, Sullivan, Anderson, Auric, Strauss, among many others.
