Loulé City Council says it has not received any order from the court for the closure of Disco Seven, which has been operating for about a week at the Tivoli Marinotel in Vilamoura, which is linked to the family of football player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The local authority assured, in a statement, that the news that was made public this Friday is without foundation, both with regard to the existence of a decision on the injunction presented by the Association of Discotecas do Sul and Algarve (ADSA) and to alleged statements by the mayor of Loulé Seruca Emídio that he would not comply with the decision.

Assuring that it has not received «any notification ordering the closure of “Disco Seven”, the municipality added that Seruca Emídio “reaffirms that when the Municipality of Loulé may be notified of the closure of “Disco Seven”, it will abide by immediate judicial decision, as has been the practice of the leading executive».

"The Municipality of Loulé has already filed a Response pursuant to article 131, paragraph 4 of the CPTA, which explained the procedural reasons, the reasons of fact and law, which in its understanding determine, if not the preliminary rejection of the Initial Application, at least the its dismissal and maintained the effectiveness of its decisions through a reasoned Resolution sent to the Court, and simultaneously communicated to the ASAE and GNR», reads the statement. In other words, it exercised its right as the target of a request for Provisional Measure to present arguments in its favor.

The Chamber of Loulé guaranteed that "no court or judicial or administrative instance has declared, so far, the illegality of any license or authorization, specifically those granted to Sociedade Comercial Seven Gold Lda". "Therefore, it is not true that the Mayor of Loulé has stated that he does not respect any court decision," added the municipality.

"It is also important to clarify that since 2009, the year in which ADSA began the filing of the first injunction, until the present year of 2012, this Association has never obtained in Court or in any other judicial or administrative instance, a decision or final judgment, to recognize any of their claims or the requests deduced,” said the Chamber of Loulé.
