Billy Idol will give music to motorcyclists heading to Faro, between the 19th and 22nd of July, for another International Motorcycle Concentration of the Motoclube de Faro.

Vale das Almas is once again hosting the bikers' party and has already confirmed the presence not only of the iconic British musician, but also of many other well-known protagonists, both Portuguese and foreign.

The band GNR, which celebrates 30 years, one less than the concentration of motorcycle riders Faro, the Portuguese Áurea and Apocalyptica, a band that became known for playing Metallica songs on cello, are other big names on the poster. The musical formations War Cry, Rebeldes, Miss Lava, Noidz and M'vula are also confirmed.

A year after the 30th anniversary, not only for being a round number but also for the coming of Iron Maiden, a cult band and old friends of the motorcycle club from Farense, the association's president José Amaro admitted, in a conversation with the Sul Informação and with RUA FM, which does not expect a turnout as high as in 2011.

“Last year we had a great concentration. It was good, it had a great atmosphere, not so much for the music, but for the people who were here. It was a spectacular concentration," he recalled.

«We have a lot to thank Iron Maiden, especially Steve, the guitarist, for coming to play the Faro for the price they charged”, said José Amaro. The band made a price «more than a friend», which allowed Motoclube to keep ticket prices at the level of other years and the benefits associated with them intact.

This year, José Amaro admits a reduction in the number of visitors. «The 20, 25, 30 years are always different years. We expect a decrease in the number of people who will come here, due to everything, the crisis and a number of things. But we hope it will be a good concentration, with maybe less people, but with many visitors anyway», he said.

At a time when the main names on the poster are confirmed, José Amaro stressed that, despite «the names are good», it is not the music that makes the concentration, but the conviviality that this meeting of bikers from all over the world provides.

«I think that concentration is implanted with many motorcyclists because of the good atmosphere and the good work that has been done for 30 years and not because this or that band is coming. This is a concentration made for motorcyclists by motorcyclists», he stressed.
