The Olhão Baby Week, which ran until yesterday, June 10, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense, was inaugurated by the initiative's godmother, presenter Adelaide de Sousa, accompanied by the mayor Francisco Leal and vice-president António Pina.
During the 8th, at the technical seminar held at the Real Marina Hotel & Spa, in which Adelaide de Sousa was present, various themes related to the youngest were discussed, such as parenting nowadays or the challenges of family intervention.
In this 4th edition of the Baby Week, this time dedicated to the theme “The World of My Family”, an organization of the Municipality of Olhão and the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve and which has several supporters for its realization, the first baby from Olhão to be born during the Week was entitled to a special distinction. This year's Bebé Estrela is a girl and was born at dawn on Sunday, when the initiative began.
During the seminar and during the visit to the Fair, on Friday, the mayor from Olhão referred to the importance of this event, highlighting the 200 participants at the seminar, all of them technicians linked to work with children, which demonstrates the interest of this initiative on the part of professionals .
"The development of the child, the emotional stability of and in the family and the importance in the education of these babies, who will be the future men and women of our country, are extremely important", said Francisco Leal, for whom this 4th Week of the Baby of Olhão can be considered another success, given the influx of public and interested parties in the various initiatives carried out.
In closing, Vice President António Pina appealed to all parents to have “a very special look at early childhood education, which is fundamental for sustained growth”. He stressed that the help of technicians is important, since “today we live new experiences every day, in addition to being faced with daily challenges in the education of our children”.
Godmother Adelaide de Sousa thanked the invitation to participate in this initiative, making herself available to make this event more publicized in national channels, as well as to continue to be the godmother of this project.
The mayor of Olhão also stressed that it was only with a lot of effort and support that it was possible to organize the initiative this year, thanks to the current economic difficulties. With the help of some sponsors and the technicians involved, it was possible to reduce the municipality's expenses by around 70%.
For a week, babies were kings in Olhão, with seminars dedicated to the theme, workshops and various activities that took place in Jardim Pescador Olhanense, in Espaços Janela, Reading or Animation Corner, among others, aimed at pregnant women, babies and parents!
