The 2nd edition of the Algarve Chef Week, which ran from May 25th to June 2nd, organized by some 5-star hotels in the Algarve and which aims to enhance the Algarve's gastronomy and the role of Chefs, managed to win over tourists, guests of hotels and residents, totaling 900 people.

This edition, which started again with an event at the International Airport of Faro, where the Chefs demonstrated and proved the art of their kitchens, contributed to the fact that, during the Algarve Chef Week, several restaurants in the participating 5-star hotels had a full house, a sign of the demand for an excellent gastronomic offer, and proving the success this initiative.

“Algarve Chef Week successfully promoted the Algarve's gastronomy and region once again. This 2nd edition of the initiative fulfills and reinforces the message, which we intend to convey, of an Algarve that is increasingly authentic, dynamic and sophisticated”, declared Nuno Aires, spokesperson for the initiative and marketing director of Longevity Wellness Resort Monchique.

From the value of each menu, one euro was donated to Associação CASA (delegation of Faro) and on June 10, Portugal Day, chefs from Algarve Chefs Week delivered the amount raised to the selected institution, having also prepared and served meals.

Longevity Wellness Resort Monchique, Hilton Vilamoura, Vila Monte, Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Spa Hotel, Sheraton Algarve & Pine Cliffs Residence A Luxury Collection Resort, Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, Tivoli Victoria & The Residences at Victoria and Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resorts were the 5 star hotels in the Algarve that in 2012 were part of this initiative.

The Algarve Chefs Week was supported by ERTA (Regional Tourism Authority of the Algarve), TAP Air Portugal, ANA Aeroportos, Essential Algarve, Algarve Resident and Quinta do Barranco Longo.
