Vitor Guerreiro presents himself as the only candidate for the leadership of the Socialist Party's Political Committee in São Brás de Alportel, which is decided in the elections on June 2, with the motion “People are our motivation”.
The candidacy of Vitor Guerreiro, who intends to succeed Correia Martins in leading the socialists in São Brás de Alportel, is assumed as “the beginning of a project that should be ambitious but responsible and focused on people, where the defense in improving quality of life of all São Brasenses, will continue to be one of the priorities, to continue the development of the county, in a balanced and sustainable way”.
Acting as councilor since 2002 and currently vice-president of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, alongside António Eusébio, the São Brasense mayor proposes to continue the project that the PS in São Brás has been working on. to materialize over the last few years, in the different municipal bodies, as it argues that it "was able to promote the harmonious and sustainable development of the county, managing to assert it in the region and in the country, as an exemplary county in several areas."
Respect for the PS's past and a deep knowledge of the present, in a particularly difficult context, are the solid foundations on which its candidacy is based, supported by the municipal experience of almost two decades in Organs municipal bodies of São Brás de Alportel: in the municipal assembly, from 1993 to 2001 and since 2002 at the municipal council.
“We know where we came from and how we got here. We did it with respect for the past, but always with a view to the horizon of modernity and progress, and only in this way will we be able to trace a firm and safe path towards the future”.
Taking on social issues and participatory municipal management as the main priorities of the present time, Vitor Guerreiro defends “a project that brings together ideas, wills and experiences, with which all socialists identify, to build a PS with a face, to which everyone must contribute, in a debate of ideas, carried out in frank and open dialogue.”
Taking the municipal elections of 2013 as the council's main challenge, and respect for ethics, truth and transparency as its main strategy, Vitor Guerreiro presents itself to elections with the motion “People are our Motivation”, to develop a “Project of trust", at a time when, as he says, "the discredit of political promises and their protagonists increases and people are tired of words, therefore it is urgent to reverse this trend and encourage feeling, belief and identification of citizens with politics; acting with directness, transparency and proximity to people, telling them the truth in all circumstances”.
Along with the motion, Vitor Guerreiro delivered this Tuesday, at the Algarve Federation of the Socialist Party, the list with which he proposes to lead the destinies of the São Brasense municipality “an experienced and committed team, plural and renewed, with men and women , young and less young, whom I can count on to develop this fundamental work so that we can continue to give São Brasenses reasons to be proud of their land”.
"We know that in this very difficult moment that our population is living, an ambitious but realistic, solidary, transparent and dynamic PS is needed more than ever, open to dialogue, able to feel the problems of the population, and working in the search for new solutions to new problems”, says the candidate.
