ToPAS Sul is a programming tournament aimed at secondary school students in the Algarve region, taking place on the 11th. Organized by the Department of Electronic and Informatics Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UAlg, in partnership with the Department of Science of Computers of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, the event starts at 9:00 am, in Room 1.53 of building 1, in Campus of Gambelas.

In ToPAS Sul, students compete in teams of three elements that represent the schools. The competition consists of a four-hour programming test, to solve six to seven problems, using the programming languages ​​C, C++, Java or Pascal.

This initiative aims to promote a taste for problem solving, programming and the development of . In addition, it is a meeting point, in the Algarve, between students and teachers who like computers, in a healthy competition, provided by exciting programming challenges. ToPAS Sul also serves as training for the national computer olympics.
