The international movement Shortcutz arrives in the Algarve tomorrow. After Lisbon, Porto, London, Berlin and Madrid. The initiative, which is both an exhibition and a competition of short films, extends to the south of Portugal with Shortcutz Faro, in the Patio de Letras.

Short films will be screened every Friday – tomorrow at 21 pm – which will be evaluated by a jury composed of Pedro Noel da Luz (Photographer/Director), Tiago Inácio (Director/Screenplay), Pedro Monteiro (Actor), Pedro Viegas (Musician of the band Deep Coffee NonSense) and Paulo Peralta (film critic).

Shortcutz is an international movement of short films and is an integral part of the Labz Network platform, the new Subfilmes Creative Network project (international and multidisciplinary platform for the promotion and dissemination of talent in the area of ​​urban culture).

According to the organization, more than a festival or an exhibition, Shortcutz aims to be an authentic urban revolution of ideas, projects and people in the field of short films. It is also Shortcutz's objective to support and stimulate the production of films and their discussion among professionals, students and film lovers, as well as to support the visibility and circulation of creative talents and their works in the world, thus becoming a permanent reference in the cultural panorama of each city.

the shortcutz Faro counts on the directors/producers Hernâni Duarte Maria (from Paradoxon Produções) and João Marco (from Fury n ́Dust) in the direction and programming.

Those interested in competing must send the short films for viewing to the e-mail [email protected] and consult the regulation at www.shortcutzfaro.blogspot.pt .

The short films in the competition must be produced by national directors, be less than one year old and cannot exceed fifteen minutes in length.

In the weekly sessions of Shortcutz, two short films will be shown that will be part of the competition for the best short of the month and a guest short (national or international). Special guests and professionals in the field will be present at each session, in order to share their opinions and knowledge with the audience present.
