The virtual visit to the territory is recent but has already had effects in the Lower Guadiana region. Based on the territory promotion policy carried out by Odiana, the Lower Guadiana is online on Lifecooler and with almost 300 views in the first quarter of its existence.
O Lower Guadiana took a step in the tourist promotion policy by placing the territory in permanent promotion in the national tourist directory lifecooler. After 71 days, from December 21st to February 29th this year, the result is extremely positive.
From 44 views in December, the numbers grew exponentially in January to 252, rising again to 105.228 in February.
In total there are 294.290 views of the interactive channel which is a virtual window of the territory. This is a traffic that results from the curiosity of internet users and tourists, but above all from a previous gap, which is being filled, in terms of territorial promotion.
In the most searched sections of the channel are the directory/database, namely accommodation, restaurants and heritage and the section «Itineraries» – suggestions for excursions.
The Baixo Guadiana channel also has several thematic dossiers, as well as written and photographic reports. These results strengthen and consolidate Odiana's great goal: boosting the potential and territorial tourism image and implementing a joint and structured strategy in the Baixo Guadiana cross-border region.
The bet continues and more and more citizens, national and foreign, can, at the distance of a simple click, unveil the mountains, the barrocal and the coastline of the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, as well as nature, heritage, tourist activities and businesses in the territory.
