The exhibition “O Património do Meu Concelho”, by José António Geraldo Batista, is open to the public until the 30th of June at the Centro Cultural de Vila do Bispo.
In this exhibition, 25 replicas of various monuments of the municipality can be seen, such as the Fortress of Sagres, the Forte da Baleeira, the Fountain of Vila do Bispo, the Parish Church of Vila do Bispo, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Guadalupe and Moinhos .
José António Geraldo Batista was an employee of the Municipal Council of Vila do Bispo. In 2009 he retired from the profession of mason and since then has dedicated himself to the construction of miniatures of several buildings and monuments that are most representative of the county.
His works are made with civil construction materials, such as cement, brick, stone and clay.
This is another initiative of the City Council that intends to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the works carried out by the municipality's artists.
