Four afternoons – one a month -, four different soundtracks with the same background: the Ria Formosa. The ArQuente Cultural Association once again brings music to Vila Adentro, in the city center of Faro, with the second edition of Concertos ao Entardecer. Walter Benjamin is the first artist to act on April 28th.

Walter Benjamin, Tiago Sousa, Osso Vaidoso and Algodão are the projects that will work at Galeria Arco. Starting in April, the evening concerts continue until July, with one date per month, always at seven in the afternoon.

Gil Silva da ArQuente explains that these concerts will be «in an uncommitted format, with direct contact with the artist. It is a formula that allows us to demystify a little the concept of the star-artist because, deep down, artists are people, just like us».

The names of the projects may not even say much to the public – despite Ana Deus being the vocalist of Osso Vaidoso and Pacman dos, Da Weasel, performing in “Version Algodão” – but for ArQuente they are musicians who have something to transmit to the public and with quality.

«Some of the names are still small projects, but with potential to grow in the national music scene, and that have a message to convey to people. In addition, these are projects that rarely operate outside Lisbon and Porto and here have an opportunity to show their work to the Algarve public», concludes Gil Silva.

April 28 – Walter Benjamin
The Imaginary Life of Rosemary and Me is songwriter and producer Walter Benjamin's most personal album, which was released by Pataca Discos on April 9th.
With a disheveled biography, Walter Benjamin released in his own name several EPs and the album The National Crisispela by the extinct label Merzbau, trying to escape the monotony of labels.
The new album, written and recorded between the heat of Studio 15A in Lisbon and a bedroom in London, is a traveling album. References come from all sides but keeping their very own register: from Dylan to Cohen, from the Beatles to the Beach Boys, from Phoenix to LCD Soundsystem, from António Carlos Jobim to Chico Buarque, from Red House Painters to Wilco and Yo La Tengo to Beck.

May 26 – Tiago Sousa
First recognized for his work developed with the Merzbau netlabel — which launched names like B Fachada, Lobster, Noiserv, Frango and Walter Benjamin — Tiago Sousa has revealed in recent years a consistent solo artistic work. Always privileging intuition as an essential premise of his method of composition, far from the boundaries named by genres and formal academies, he became one of the most promising names in Portuguese music.

June 16 – Vain Bone
Osso vaidoso is the new project by Ana Deus, voice (Ban, Três Tristes Tigres) and Alexandre Soares, guitar (GNR, Três Tristes Tigres).
They present their album Animal live, considered by Visão Magazine one of the best Portuguese music albums of 2011.
Simple songs with powerful texts by Alberto Pimenta, Regina Guimarães and Valter Hugo Mãe.

14 July – Cotton
Pacman, the former leader of Da Weasel, releases a solo album.
the album will be called Uma Falaciosa Noção de Intimidade and includes 12 songs, created from the musician's “poems and poetic prose”.
Pacman even describes the work as "music to read".
“If words are mostly spoken/spoken, music goes beyond the condition of mere support for them. I like 'music to read' best as a possibility of framing this record in a general context” Carlos Nobre.
Aldina Duarte and violinist Francisca Fins participate in the album, released in an author's edition under the name Algodão.
