The Sports Office of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve, in partnership with SALVA, International Association of Traditional Medicine and Healthy Activities, and CAMI, Internal Movement Art Circle, under the initiative of Professor Ana Margarida Guerreiro, promotes training about Integral Qi Gong and Healthy Living.

This initiative comes as a result of initiatives relating to the promotion of healthy lifestyles promoted since the beginning of the school year, in which theoretical-practical workshops and tai chi classes stand out.

In an experiential and very practical way, duly supported by the theoretical component, this training aims to develop in the trainee a taste for healthy practice through simple Qi Gong exercises, which can be introduced in daily life, self-massage techniques and reflex therapy, as well as notions of natural nutrition according to the seasons, with recognition abroad of some medicinal plants (through organized tours).

Qi Gong (or Chi Kung) is an ancient tradition that belongs to traditional Chinese medicine. It occupies an important place along with acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine and dietetics.

The training will take place over 11 months, starting in April and ending in March 2013, in the AAUALG training room at Campus da Penha.

On the faculty, he has the international experience of Francisco Castro and José Carlos Santos.
