An earthquake simulacrum will be used by the Chamber of Faro, on April 18, between 14 pm and 19 pm, to test once again its Municipal Civil Protection Emergency Plan.

The simulation will involve the Municipal Civil Protection Commission of Faro, all Municipal Services, Parish Councils and other Civil Protection agents, and will consist of a CPX exercise (command post exercise), that is, that will not involve external means.

The aim is to test the Special Civil Protection Emergency Plan for the Seismic and Tsunami Risk of the Algarve (PEERST-ALG) of the National Civil Protection Authority and the Municipal Civil Protection Emergency Plan of Faro.

This exercise aims above all to test the communications, procedures and the response of the various Civil Protection agents, bodies and entities involved in the face of a seismic event.
