The 6th edition of the Intercultural Festival, to be held at the Escola EB 2 3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos, in Sao Bras de Alportel, today and tomorrow, the 22nd and the 23rd, it meets the cultures of the world through music.

The street street of São Brás de Alportel, on the 22nd, Thursday, marks the beginning of this Festival that opens its doors to the entire community over 2 days, in a living display of the intercultural richness of this municipality, where more than 10 % of the population is from foreign countries.

The program of the “Musicas do Mundo” Intercultural Festival includes several musical exhibition spaces, which show more than 1 instruments from different countries, as well as various musical performances from different cultures.

The music arrives at the Festival through the voice of Fado, the greatest representation of Portuguese culture, followed throughout the afternoon of the 22nd, with a show of gypsy dances, the performance of Rockestra, a moment of flutes, ending to the sound of Grupo Coral dos Friends of the Museum, composed of elements from different nationalities.

On the 23rd, Friday, dances and singing return to the stage of the Intercultural Festival with various musical interpretations of flute, guitar, didgeridoo and gypsy dances, medieval dances, hip-hop, Romanian and Moldovan dances by the group of the DOINA Association - Association of Romanian and Moldavian Immigrants in the Algarve, among many other activities.

The VI Intercultural Festival – Músicas do Mundo is organized by the @ventura Project, in a partnership that integrates the IN LOCO Association, the José Belchior Viegas School Group and the São Brás de Alportel City Council, with the aim of raising awareness of tolerance and respect for cultural difference, a daily challenge that can be very enriching.
