Over the next four months, a group of musicians will shape the artistic and pedagogical project EstudaJazz, which has an important educational aspect, through workshops aimed at 2nd and 3rd cycle students and local musicians.

Composed by Paulo Luz, Timofey Chernov and Mauro Ribeiro, the trio aims to promote with this project, supported by the Portimão City Council, the musical language so typical of jazz and some of its main characteristics, embracing a classical repertoire in which composers such as Duke appear. Ellington, John Coltrane, Miles Davis or Sonny Rollins, among others.

Starting on the 24th and 25th of March, and over one weekend a month until next June, a didactic workshop and two concerts will be held, in which trainees will be able to participate.

The workshops are open to interested parties from the age of 10 and aim to cover areas related to jazz in its technical component, but also in a historical and social aspect, underlining the close relationship between the styles of jazz discussed and the social conditions that gave rise to them.

Each workshop takes place on Saturday (in June, on Monday), between 16:00 pm and 18:00 pm, and is subject to prior registration in the amount of 5 euros, which includes entry to the concert on that day, scheduled for 22:00 pm in the Auditorium of the Museum of Portimão.

Registration for the workshops must be made at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 am and 18:30 pm and on Saturdays, from 15:00 pm to 19:00 pm.

It should be noted that entry to the concerts on Saturday costs 5 euros for the general public, with tickets being available in advance at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes during the same time, or on the day of the show in the Auditorium of the Museum of Portimão, from 20:00.

The concerts scheduled for Sundays begin in March and April at 16:00 pm and in May and June at 21:00 pm, they are free to enter, taking place in several places in the city, according to the attached program.
