The health professionals of the Hospital de Faro on the 31st of March, they will join the National Day of the Patients with Stroke initiatives, promoted by the Portuguese Society of Stroke. Awareness actions aimed at the population, screenings, counseling sessions and discussion of topics related to health, disease, diet and exercise mark the program of this day with actions taking place in the Municipal Market of Faro and in the Hospital auditorium.
Streamlined by a group of professionals that includes physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, therapists, dietitians, cardiopulmonology technicians and technical assistants, the initiatives start as early as 8 am in the Municipal Market of Faro with the carrying out of screenings that allow the assessment of blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index, abdominal perimeter, blood glucose and cholesterol.
At the same time, health professionals will also be available to carry out risk assessments and counseling users, as well as to disseminate information and distribute information leaflets on healthy eating, exercise, diabetes, stroke urgency, signs and symptoms.
From 15 pm onwards, it takes place in the auditorium of the Hospital de Faro a Session on Stroke with discussion of topics related to health, disease, diet and exercise. The session is aimed at the population.
