Spanish BMX Race champion Alejandro Kim (Union WCC) was unbeatable at the Quarteira track, taking two victories this weekend. He imposed himself, in the elite category, in the first scoring event for the Liberty Seguros BMX Portugal Cup and was the best in the I Open de Portugal Supercross.

Alejandro Kim has been running a competitive European calendar that has given him a physical asset that the Spanish runner has not wasted. The Portuguese BMX champion, Dário Piedade (Wings of the City), was the man who put up the most fight, but he couldn't do better than the second position, both in the Cup race and in the supercross race.

The start-up weekend of the 2012 BMX Portuguese season was marked by the presence of several Spanish participants, who raised the average quality of the races, but which had a strong replica of the Portuguese cyclists.

In addition to Alejandro Kim, in elite, only another Castilian managed to triumph in Quarteira, in the scoring races for the Cup. It was the children's Pablo Fernández (Union WCC). The remaining victories were taken by the national teams.

Junior Adrian Moldovan (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Bestcofra) was the best in his category. In cadets Fábio Ferreira (Wings of the City) prevailed, the best master was Bruno Berto, Miguel Silvestre (Wings of the City) raised his arms in juveniles, Guilherme Gonçalves (Núcleo Bicross de Portimão) beat the other initiates, Daniel Matos (Núcleo Bicross de Portimão) won in benjamins and Ivo Pires (Wings of the City) won in cruisers. Team BMX Wings of the City dominated by teams.

The Supercross Open, which does not count for the Cup of Portugal, saw the victory of Alejandro Kim in the main category, and saw the triumphs of João Cabanita, in open 3, Miguel Silvestre, in open 2, and Daniel Matos, in open Open 1.
