«Ruja Ruja Quem Quiser Que Fuja!», by the Coimbra group «Realejo», was elected Best Album 2011 by the «Sopa de Pedra» Awards, given by Rádio Universitária do Algarve (RUA FM).

As for Best Original Music 2011, the winners, ex aequo, were two songs with the same name: «Azul», by the Algarve Marenostrum, band from Tavira, active since 1994, and «Azul», by OrBlua, which debuted on collection South Blue, launched in 2011, which includes these two themes.

The jury also chose Assembly Point's Best New Album 2011 for 'Assembly Point', a group composed of three musicians, with a passion for Folk Acoustic music, mixing the traditional roots of their origins, Galicia, Ireland and Portugal.

The award for Best Traditional Theme Version 2011 was awarded to «Moda da Ceifa», by the Dazkarieh quartet, formed in Lisbon in 1999, with enviable growth and national and international recognition.

«Sopa da Pedra» is a program on RUA FM, dedicated to Portuguese and European traditional music.

The Sopa da Pedra Awards are awarded every year to distinguish the best national releases in the area of ​​folk/traditional music.

The awards began in 2005 and, since that date, every year, a jury formed by journalists and experts from all over the country, gather around the RUA FM program, Sopa da Pedra, for voting.

In the past, the Sopa da Pedra Awards have already rewarded names such as António Zambujo, Gaiteiros de Lisboa, Mandrágora, Deolinda, Júlio Pereira, Dazkarieh or Uxu Kalhus.

For the 2011 edition, Álvaro José Ferreira was part of the jury (Our Radio, blog about public radio), André Dias (turbot, association of traditional dances), António Pires (Roots and Antennas, website dedicated to the music of the world), Carlos Norton (Stone's Soup), Joao Sa (folkland, radio program) and Luís Rei (Earth Chronicles, website and radio show).
