Two more sessions of the Seniors in Alert Cycle will take place on the 7th and 22nd of February, at the Junta de Freguesia do Algoz and the Junta de Freguesia de Pêra, respectively.
Starting at 10 am, these actions are promoted by the Municipality of Silves, through the Social Action Sector and the Municipal Civil Protection Service, and their main objective is to disseminate useful information to the municipality's elderly population to apply in case of emergency .
In each session, five main themes are addressed: 112 (how and when it should be used), gas (care at home and warning signs), intense cold (effects and situations to avoid), hot flashes (effects and situations to avoid) and earthquakes (what is, what to do, before and after and safe places).
The cycle “Seniores em Alerta” has been developed in several locations in the municipality, and three more sessions are planned to be held in Silves, Armação de Pêra and Alcantarilha, during the month of March.
