Most of the earthquakes recorded in mainland Portugal and adjacent region in November 2011 occurred in the South and Southwest of the Algarve, announced the Meteorology Institute.

According to the IM, the seismic activity in the national territory and adjacent area, in November 2011, was characterized by the occurrence of about 200 local and regional earthquakes, two of which were felt by the population.

Regarding the Madeira archipelago, it is worth mentioning the low level of seismicity recorded, and in the Azores archipelago moderate seismicity.
