Francisco Martins, president of the Parish Council of Lagoa, is the new president of the Political Commission of the PS in Lagoa, after the elections that took place yesterday.

To what Sul Informação found that Francisco Martins obtained 54 votes, against the 42 received by the list headed by the other candidate, Susana Ferreira.

With these results, the next Political Commission of the Lagoa Socialists will count with 11 elements from the list affects Francisco Martins and 8 from Susana Ferreira.

The mid-term elections that took place this Saturday were called after the departure of the previous president, José Águas da Cruz, who resigned after the Legislative Elections last June, which led to the fall of Socrates, but also one of the lowest votes ever in the PS, in Lagoa.

Francisco Martins' candidacy has as its motto «Lagoa, Um Projeto de Futuro».

Francisco José Malveiro Martins, 44 years old, is a Graduate Nurse, currently acting as Coordinator Nurse of the Continuous Care Unit of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Estômbar.

In political terms, he has belonged to all local government bodies, Municipal Assembly, Lagoa City Council as Councilor for Culture (interestingly elected on a PSD list), Parish Assembly, currently exercising the position of president of the Parish Council of Lagoa.
