Based on the territory promotion policy, carried out by the Odiana Association, the territory of the Portuguese bank of the Guadiana is now online to the entire world through the well-known and award-winning travel and leisure channel lifecooler.

The Baixo Guadiana tourism promotion policy took another step by placing the territory in permanent promotion in the national tourist directory of reference lifecooler.

The objective is to boost the potential and territorial tourist image for around one million visitors/year who access the site in search of the best tourist destination.

The allocation on this site is part of the strategy that Odiana is carrying out for the national and international promotion of this territory, a strategy that had started with the presence in the fairs of Cartaya (September), Jaén (October) and INTUR, in Valladolid (November).

For 2012, Odiana reveals that more promotion actions are in the portfolio, including participation in the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL) in February. The objective is to implement a joint and structured tourism strategy in terms of heritage, culture and environment in the Baixo Guadiana cross-border region.

According to Valter Matias, executive director of Odiana, “the site lifecooler it manages to meet the expectations of all those looking for suggestions for tours, accommodation, restaurants, cultural, scenic and ornithological offers”. The official also defends the territory as a «quality offer and bet».

Thus, national and foreign citizens can now discover the mountains, the barrocal and the coastline of the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, through the Baixo Guadiana channel in the lifecooler.

The tourist offer is permanent and focuses mainly on nature, heritage, beaches, the Guadiana river and hiking trails.

“Odiana has just launched an innovative project in partnership with Lifecooler.pt, which allows a strong promotion in the online sector for a fifth of the normal cost of investment”, highlights Luís Gonçalves, commercial director of the portal, noting that “ supported by reports, photo reports, accessible databases and a cultural agenda, this channel effectively and profitably positions the Lower Guadiana territory as a very attractive destination in Portuguese domestic tourism”.

The site Lifecoolr received the highest distinction in the «1st edition of the Tourism Award – Valorization of Public Space», promoted by the Instituto de Turismo de Portugal in the «Services» category, and is currently the most complete national leisure and travel portal.
