Portimonense suffered until the end, but went ahead in the League Cup. After a 2-1 defeat at the end of 90 minutes, which tied the tie with Feirense (the Algarve won 1-0 at home), Carlos Mozer's team was more effective in penalties and won 5-4.

Feirense, who entered the field at a disadvantage, scored in the 20th minute of the game for Buval.

However, the advantage of the Santa Maria da Feira team, which hosted Portimonense in Aveiro, lasted no more than 13 minutes. At minute 33, Henrique took down Organista in the area, was sent off and, in the penalty kick, the captain alvinegro tied the match.

Despite the numerical advantage, Portimonense conceded Feirense's second goal in the 41st minute scored by Varela.

Until the end of the match, the result did not change and, in the penalty shootout, Portimonense was more effective and won 5-4.

In the next phase of the League Cup, which will be played in groups, Portimonense will play against one of the big three.
