Swimmer Filipe Santos was European Champion in 400 Freestyle and 200 Mariposa, in the European Swimming Championship DSISO, which took place in Coimbra from 15 to 21 November.
In addition to these two gold medals, the O2 – Portimão swimmer was silver in the 50 Freestyles and Bronze in the 200 Freestyles, having been on the podium in all the competitions he played.
Of the 35 medals won by Portugal in this championship, which brought together swimmers from all over Europe with Down Syndrome in Coimbra, four came to Portimão.
But the victories of the Algarve athletes did not stop there: the athlete from Loulé José Vieira was crowned European champion in the 200 Bruços and was Silver in the 100 and 50 Bruços.
